Narcissist: Prom Night!

Hey Everyone!

I know, I know, it's been a very long time since I last wrote a post. And I'm sorry. But, in my defense (and I'm going to use my usual excuse) I was VERY busy. I've had AP tests, finals, prom, senior checkout, graduation, and graduation parties to attend. These last three weeks I've been very sleep deprived and have had no time for blogging. So again, I'm sorry.
HOWEVER, I'M DONE WITH HIGH SCHOOL!
Twelve awful years of American public education, ten different schools, three different states, and I'm done. I feel free at last!
So now that I'm done with all the celebrations and I've got a week before I go off to Paris for my graduation/18th birthday present, I'll post some pictures of probably one of the most important nights for any American girl- PROM! I spent the entire year planning for my prom (seriously). The process was stressful, messy, and dramatic enough for a telenovela, but the end result was a perfect night.

I had my hair and nails done professionally, but my makeup was all done my me. My dress is Diane Von Furstenberg' "Twisted Dreams" gown, rented from Rent The Runway. My shoes were purchased from Nordstrom.

For pre-makeup I used a clay mask, then I used Clinique's Dramatically Different yellow moisturizer [1], and to prep my face I used SmashBox's Photofinish foundation primer (clear) [2].

For my makeup I used Bare Minerals' Original Foundation [3], blush [4], and Mineral Veil [5]. I used Benefit Cosmetic's High Beam highlighter [6] on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, inner corner of my eyes, and under my brows. I used Too Faced's brow pencil [7] in my hair color, and Anastasia's clear brow gel [8]. For my eyes I used Urban Decay's famous Eyeshadow Primer Potion [9], two Sephora brand eyeshadows [10] to contour my eyes, and Stila's liquid eyeliner pen [11] to create a cat eye. Then I used Sephora brand false lashes [12] on the outer corners of my eyes. I used DUO's black lash glue [13] to apply. For my lips I used Sephora brand red lipstick [14] in my perfect shade. To finish everything off, I used Urban Decay's All Nighter finishing spray [15].

Many people wouldn't use 15 products on their face, but the end result was very light (thanks to the mineral foundation) and never budged. Even when I returned home at 5:00 am and slept in my makuep until 8:00 am, nothing budged.

Narcissist: Moving In

Hey Everyone!

So life has been moving way too fast for me these last couple of weeks. I've been writing posts but never finishing them because I can't seem to find the time to complete and publish them. My move has kept me so busy, that I barely have any time to myself. Also I haven't had any internet connection in a while, because my home doesn't have WiFi yet. Right now I'm typing this post on stolen WiFi from one of my neighbors (Shhhhh!).
 So far Denver is an amazing city. We (my family) have found so many interesting and delicious restaurants here, and all of the shopping centers seem to be less than two miles away. The weather is incredible, very hot but dry. It has rained a bit since we've been here (which everyone tells us is rare), so my family and I joke that we brought the rain with us from Washington. Rain is fine with me, but I have a leak in my room so it kinda sucks. But all in all, I really like it here.
What I don't like though is unpacking.
We received all of our furniture the day before yesterday, and since our new house is so much smaller than our old home on Bainbridge, we're having an extraordinarily difficult time figuring out where our stuff should go. But luckily for me my bedroom is so far very easy to unpack since I have the second biggest room in the house. I now have my own bathroom in my bedroom, and a huge walk in closet, which I didn't have in Washington or in Florida. Everything seems to fit perfectly! I especially like that I have hardwood floors, and lots of windows that let in a ton of natural light. I really can't wait until my room is completed! I have some pictures here of what has been accomplished so far**:

** We have gotten a lot completed in the last 24 hours, so our home is almost finished. I also managed to fall down a couple of stairs in my house and I think I broke my coccyx. I'm fine, but it hurts to walk, move, and sit.

Narcissist: Always a Beginning, Never an Ending

Hey everyone!

After 180 days of pure torture, agony, and occasional success, I have finally completed my Junior year of high school. Next August I begin the first day of my Senior year, my last year of high school (hopefully). This school year has been the most uneventful period of my life so far, and probably the hardest year of my high school career. I would go into detail of what the year was like, since I did write a detailed description of my classes at the start of the year, but after a brutal last day of finals, I'd rather not. I passed all my classes, and that's all that matters. I could care less about what my grades are, what my yearbook photo looked like, or what classes I'm taking next year.

All I care about is this summer, because this summer is my Summer of Change. This summer I'm moving to Denver, I'm going on my annual trip to Los Angeles to visit my aunt and the amazing beaches in Cali, and I have decided that this summer I'm going to change the way I live life. I'm probably going to make a bunch of promises to change that I wont keep, but I'm determined to better myself this summer before my Senior year. Some of the changes I plan on making this summer are:

• Going to bed at a decent time so I am actually functional in the morning
• Becoming one with nature by making window boxes and planting flowers in them
• Growing out my hair so I can reduce the number of trips to the salon I make
• Finding a way to better manage my time before the school year

Also I plan on posting more this summer, though it may prove difficult because I'm moving. So here's to the end of one brutal year and the beginning to one promising summer!

Countries of Origin

Hey there everyone!

So lately I have been getting a lot of traffic to my blog, through my shameless self advertisement and help from friends. Looking through my stats has been a fascinating and exciting experience, seeing all the interesting countries you all come from. I've always been so interested in different cultures and countries, fascinated by their traditions and mannerisms that to me seem far more sophisticated and interesting than American culture and history. Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud American and love so many things about my country, but there are times I feel closer to societies and civilizations other than my own.
So, out of curiosity, I was wondering if you would all go ahead and tell me about where you're from and what you like or dislike about your country. Share any interesting facts about your heritage, or complain about stereotypes or what not. I'm really excited to hear what you all have to say! So please don't be shy, and comment on this post about anything you would like to share, and I would also be glad to answer any questions about American culture, if you have any.

Narcissist: Rantings of a Self- Infatuated Teenager

Hey there! First off I would just like to say,
I AM SO, SO SORRY!!! </3

I haven't posted in a while :(
And though I really had no excuse, I'm going to throw out a couple and let you choose which one you think is good enough to justify me not keeping to my promise of writing. So here they are:

1. Just after I started this blog, I had gotten my wisdom teeth removed.
2. Soon after that (5 days after) it was the first day of my Junior year in high school.
3. I am very busy because I am taking difficult classes.
4. I have a life. ( <---- This is a lie!)
5. My computer, until about 10 minutes ago, was not working due to several viruses.
6. I died.

Though these excuses might not really do it for you, they have indeed been my justification for why I'm not posting as often as I thought I would. Expect to hear numbers three and five often. And maybe four...

So since September 1st, I have been going to school. AS AN UPPERCLASSMEN!!! (Yessss!) I am a Junior this year, which means loads of homework, SAT's and ACT's, parties, dances, American Football games, beating up Freshmen and whatnot. The courses I am taking this semester are as follows:

1. Experiencing Music- This class is pretty lame. I'm taking it because I needed one more class, but this is a class for people who were too lazy to get a Preforming Arts credit in an actual class (I have too many Pref. Arts credits). On the plus side, this class is a great way to wake up in the morning, (because it requires no thinking) it's kind of fun, and there is this Adonis of a boy in this class, whom I will marry one day.

2. Physics- This class at first literally made me shake and shiver, because the teacher likes to ask difficult questions, and he picks on me at least twice every time I have that class. The reason it's so hard is not because he is using "big words/ hard words," but because he REFUSES to use them. We have a list in our class called "The Fancy Word List/ Naughty Word List," (lame, I know) which are two lists compiled of words we are forever banned from using (Naughty Words, i.e. Gravity, Suck/ Sucking, etc.) and words we use regularly but can't really define, but once we can define them they are acceptable. (Fancy Words, i.e. Force, Volume, etc.)
Though, recently this class has been getting less nerve-racking, and more fun. I'm actually sad when the bell rings!
3. Algebra 2- I believe this is self explanatory. For those of you who enjoy math, you would love this class. For those of you like me, who can't even do Arithmetic correctly, this is not at all enjoyable. Though, I have to say, the teacher does a good job of not making this class hell, and I'm doing pretty good in it. As long as I still get to use my calculator to do -8 (-2x + 4).
4. Wind Symphony- Yes, Wind "Symphony." Not Wind Ensemble, not Band, but Wind "Symphony." This name wouldn't be so bad, if the symphony wasn't SO BAD. I have to admit, it is challenging, especially because I have neglected practicing, or even touching my Flute (I play Flute) in over a year. And the band can play, and it has good musicians, but they don't play well together, at all. I just might be a band snob, but its us band snobs that get shit done.Well.
(BTW it's called "Wind Symphony" because were "so big" [40 kids?] and have one string bass player. WTF?)
5. American Studies (English)- I have this class for two periods this semester, with two teachers. The teacher I have for 5th period is a hilariously grumpy, sarcastic, friendly old man, the kind you wish was your grandfather because everything he says is brutally wise and funny. When he gets bored in class, he throws the class's electric pencil sharpeners and whatever else he can grab out the window of our 3rd story room. He has a number of bats and clubs he calls "Child Beaters," (or something like that?) that he whacks on the desk when someone falls asleep. He's very old and has been teaching for a while, so I suppose they were used for something else a while back...
I have at least 10 pages of notes to write for just him in one class, and an hour and a half of homework every night. Yayyyy...
6. American Studies (History)- On the other half of this class, we have a relatively young teacher (his mother is my parents' age) and his work load is exactly the same as the other teacher's. The difference between him and the English side of this class is that he's quite soft spoken, though still funny, twitches, and watches the Jersey Shore. His idea of fun sounds about right for the most part, except for the fact that he thinks visiting American war re-enactments and National landmarks are fun. Sorry, but visiting Jamestown doesn't sound like my idea of fun. The other difference is his class is severely less entertaining, and harder.

So thus is the breakdown of my life 5 days a week, for the majority of this year. I don't have many friends here, just two, including my younger sister, so my social life is taking some serious hits right now. Any funny, interesting, or nice things that you could say or think of would be much appreciated. Well, I have to go to sleep now, because I stayed up too late having a tea party last night with my teddy bears.
